Saltire Facilities Management continues its enduring partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, as it is awarded an ongoing maintenance contract for solar panels across the region.
Saltire has worked in close partnership with North Lanarkshire Council for more than 20 years, providing a range of services including boiler installation, servicing and maintenance. As decarbonisation of housing stock has become increasingly important to social landlords, Saltire’s Renewables Division has grown in response to demand.
In recent years Saltire has become one of the largest providers of renewable technologies including solar panels and batteries, electric vehicle chargers, and air source heat pumps. In 2021 North Lanarkshire Council awarded Saltire a long-term contract to install renewables in sheltered housing complexes across the area; this has now been followed by the award of a solar panel maintenance contract.
This new contract will see Saltire’s Renewables Division carry out servicing and maintenance on almost 200 domestic solar panel arrays every five years. Initial maintenance visits will take place at all properties over the next two months, with recurring visits every five years after that.
Saltire’s Renewables Manager Jamies Blades, commented “The Renewables Division at Saltire has a reputation for first-class work, and of course our customer service is second to none. That’s why we have been able to build such strong relationships with key clients such as North Lanarkshire Council, and we will continue to expand our team as more decarbonisation projects take off around the country.”
Managing Director Alan Murray added, “Our relationship with North Lanarkshire Council is of vital importance, as well as being a huge source of pride, as we’re committed to providing secure long-term employment to local people. Renewables mainteance contracts are going to become increasingly vital as more homes install these technologies, and our Renewables Division is ready to work with social landlords across the country.”
