Saltire’s young winners have been commended in The Scottish Parliament by North Lanarkshire MSP Stephanie Callaghan, who lodged a motion congratulating their achievement.

Saltire Facilities Management is part of the United Capital group, one of the country’s largest home services and decarbonisation organisations. The group’s annual company conference is due to be held in Dubai next month, and all group employees were offered a chance to take part in what was known as ‘The Race to Dubai’ – an Employee of the Year competition which awarded winners with a place at the company conference.

Faced with nominations for more than 40 employees across the group, the United Capital board eventually chose the standout nominees, two of whom are Saltire employees.

Jack Boyd was chosen as Saltire’s Apprentice of the Year, while Administration Assistant Nicola Barr was recognised as the United Capital Rising Star.

Speaking of his attendance at the conference, Jack commented ” I am really excited to attend the conference in Dubai; what an experience! I feel very lucky and privileged to have been given this opportunity. I know I will learn from this and it will be an experience to remember.”

Nicola Barr, who was recognised as the group’s Rising Star, said of her win, “Being named Rising Star and being given a place at the conference made me feel privileged, as it showed that my colleagues think I am doing well. It’s great to know they are so supportive of me.”

The United Capital group will hold its annual company conference in Dubai on 14th May, and will celebrate a year of fast-paced growth as it pivots it services to support decarbonisation of the built environment.

Speaking of the Race to Dubai competition, United Capital CEO Graeme Carling commented, “Our growth rate is phenomenal, and in large part that’s because of this incredible group of 600 employees we’ve brought together; we all work together in a way that reflects our values of being relentless, ambitious, committed, and entrepreneurial.

The board and I couldn’t be more pleased to announce our very deserving group of winners, and we look forward to congratulating them in person, as well as hearing their fresh ideas, at our conference next month.”
