Air source heat pumps: heating for cleaner, greener buildings

Air source heat pumps are the cleaner, greener alternative to traditional domestic and commercial heating

Thousands of homes across the country have already made the switch from oil or gas to an air source heat pump, and are enjoying lower fuel bills and warmer homes as a result. The time to make the switch is now, while government grants are still available for homeowners.

You can apply for the Home Energy Scotland grant and loan if you’re a homeowner. You could get up to £15,000 as a grant.

You could get:

  • up to £7,500 for energy efficiency improvements – for example, insulation.
  • up to £7,500 for clean heating systems – for example, heat pumps.

The amount you can get depends on what improvements you want to make.

For some improvements the maximum grant is less.

You do not have to pay it back.

You could also get an interest-free loan to cover some of your costs.

Check the amount you could get for different improvements on the Home Energy Scotland website.

How does an air source heat pump work?

The air source heat pump has been heating domestic and commercial buildings throughout the UK for over a decade. As accredited Daikin installers, we’re proud to offer a sustainable and cost-efficient heating solution.

The pump sits outside your home, in your garden or mounted to a structurally secure wall. Designed to be both compact and quiet, the pump absorbs heat from the outside air (even when the temperature is as low as -25°C) and converts it to usable heat in your home, covering your heating and hot water needs. You can operate it through a control panel, remote control, or an app.

Install an air source heat pump to:

  • Enjoy a warm home that literally pays for itself
  • Drastically reduce your carbon footprint
  • Play your part in creating a sustainable world
